We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PCB Design and Layout Engineer to join our hardware development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and laying out printed circuit boards (PCBs) that meet electrical and mechanical requirements for a range of products. You will work closely with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure high-quality, manufacturable designs.
Key Responsibilities
· Create and optimize PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools
· Collaborate with hardware engineers to define board architecture and component placement.
· Interpret and apply electrical schematics to PCB designs.
· Generate fabrication and assembly drawings, Gerber files, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
· Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on board layout and electrical design.
· Ensure compliance with signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal, and DFM/DFT best practices.
· Support prototype assembly and bring-up; debug layout-related issues.
· Interface with vendors and manufacturers to ensure PCB design compatibility with production processes.
· Maintain design documentation and revision control.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
· 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design and layout.
· Proficiency in at least one industry standard PCB CAD tool.
· Solid understanding of high-speed digital design, analog layout techniques, and power distribution.
· Familiarity with IPC standards and PCB fabrication processes.
· Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with rigid-flex and multi-layer board design.
· Familiarity with signal integrity and simulation tools.
· Knowledge of product development life cycle, from concept to mass production.
· Experience with EMC/EMI mitigation techniques.
· Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) for design automation.
