We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Power Integrity (PI) Engineer to join our hardware design team. In this role, you will focus on analyzing, designing, and validating power delivery networks (PDNs) to ensure stable, low-noise power to high-performance semiconductor devices. You will collaborate with board / package / chip designers, signal integrity engineers, and system architects to build reliable and scalable power solutions for cutting-edge electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform pre- and post-layout power integrity simulations for chip-in-package-on-board systems.
· Design and optimize power delivery networks (PDNs) to meet target impedance and noise requirements across a wide frequency range.
· Analyze decoupling strategies and capacitor placement to minimize voltage ripple, ground bounce, and power rail noise.
· Use industry standard PI simulation tools
· Guide board, package and chip layout teams on power plane design, via placement, and capacitor selection to ensure optimal PI performance.
· Validate PI performance in the lab using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and other measurement tools.
· Work with cross-functional teams to define power delivery requirements and ensure compliance throughout the design cycle.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in power integrity or hardware design involving complex PCB systems.
· Strong understanding of power distribution theory, PDN modeling, and electromagnetic fundamentals.
· Proficiency in industry standard PI simulation and modeling tools.
· Experience with industry standard PCB design tools.
· Hands-on experience with lab equipment for PI measurement and validation.
· Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with high-speed interface requirements (e.g., DDR, PCIe, SerDes) and their impact on PI.
· Experience working on power delivery for FPGAs, CPUs, GPUs, ASICs, or advanced SoCs.
· Understanding of VRM design, on-die power requirements, and transient response analysis.
· Experience with scripting tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to automate analysis tasks.
· Exposure to co-simulation environments involving both SI and PI.
